Felt bike Review - Felt F3C

Felt bike reviewIn this Felt bike review I  take a look at the Felt F3 which is a carbon framed road bike, is extremely light, comfortable, and direct. This is not a triathlon bike review although I would highly recommend this bike for a triathlon for people that want a triathlon bike but also have:

  • Lack flexibility to get into an aero tuck, or have too much body fat in the abdominal area to get on the tri bars
  • Cannot average over 17mph
  • Want all day comfort and a more versatile triathlon bike
  • Want a triathlon bike that inspires confidence

Inspiring a stable ride this bike is an excellent choice for those who are less confident on technical routes, but who want a bike that is foing to be as efficient as possible going up hill.

Felt Bike Review - Frame

The frame of the bike pictured is the F3C. Made of ultra-high modulus carbon fibre and a claimed weight of approximately 900g it is one of the lightest frames in production. This is not to say its performance suffers. The Modular Monocoque Construction carbon fibre frame and fork ensure the ride quality.

Felt Bike Review - Components

Sram is the order of the day on the Felt F3C all the way down to the wheelset. Being lighter than both Shimano and Campagnolo, Sram groupsets are able to result in a complete build weighing in at sub 15lbs. Needless to say, approaching the UCI legal weight limit, the biggest benefit we'd see on our performance with this bike would come from losing a pound of body-fat.

I am considering purchasing a felt. I am torn between getting a triathlon bike or a road bike.
